During my internship in summer 2015 I’ve been asked to realized a 3D version of a sculpture designed and built by the french artist, Romain Lardanchet, whose amazing work can be seen on his website
Here is a picture of the sculpture (length 8 meters, height 4 meters) realized with steel and different car pieces.
To be sure that the 3D version would be as close as possible from the real one, we scanned it using a Kinect. After gathering together the 11 differents scans, I obtened the following mesh. (video)
After that I used the 3D scanned version and the plans used to make the sculpture to make my own 3D model, destined to be 3D printed. And here is the result.
